Therapy Groups

Group work provides therapy options that are often more effective and more affordable than individual therapy. Therapy groups at Hope Roots will typically have 6-8 participants and meet in person in the Lotus Room (unless specified as telehealth or hybrid). Most groups require a commitment of 6-8 weeks, are covered by Medicaid, and are offered on a sliding scale to private-pay clients. The therapist(s) leading the group will conduct a phone screening and collect intake paperwork to ensure a good fit for the group. Some group options will include a full individual intake session. Many of the group options are offered as they are needed, so if you are interested in a group but do not see a start date, please send in the contact form below or call 970-200-8575 to be added to an interest/enrollment list and you will be notified when the group is being scheduled.

Trauma Therapy Preparation Intensive

In this immersive group, yoga philosophy and mindful movement will be used to learn & practice the skills needed to begin more intensive trauma therapy (such as EMDR therapy or Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy). The learning focuses on understanding the connection between trauma and the body’s response, the basics of yoga psychology, and how to cultivate the awareness and calm needed to do deeper emotional healing. The movement portions of this group will not be like a typical “yoga class”, but more akin to mindful movement where individuals focus on following their own inner cues, rather than an instructor. Each session will involve easy mindful movement, a new skill to help with trauma therapy (such as calm state imagery), & time to process with group members (about the skills being taught, not trauma memories).

Note: This intensive is currently offered to individuals as preparation for their own healing as a 2-day intensive. If you are a therapist or other professional seeking to learn these tools for your professional development, please click here.
