Trauma Therapy Intensives

Hope Roots offers trauma therapy intensives in Fort Collins, Colorado for groups and individuals. Individual EMDR Therapy can be done in a customizable intensive format over one or 2 days.

Trauma Therapy Preparation Intensive

a 2-day group intensive to prepare for EMDR Therapy or Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy

In this immersive group program, psychoeducation and mindful movement will be used to learn & practice the skills needed to begin more intensive trauma therapy (such as EMDR therapy or Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy). The learning focuses on understanding the connection between trauma and the body’s response, the basics of yoga psychology, and how to cultivate the awareness and calm needed to do deeper emotional healing. The movement portions of this program will not be like a typical “yoga class”, but more akin to mindful movement where individuals focus on following their own inner cues, rather than an instructor. Each session will involve easy mindful movement, a new skill to help with trauma therapy (such as calm state imagery), & time to process with group members (about the skills being taught, not trauma memories).

Individual EMDR Therapy Intensives

EMDR Therapy is often more effective or accessible when done in an intensive format. An EMDR Therapy Intensive is all 8-phases of EMDR therapy done over several hours and spanning 1-3 days, rather than shorter weekly or biweekly sessions. An EMDR Intensive would include preparation and intake sessions (via telehealth if needed), 1-3 days of intensive in-person reprocessing in Fort Collins, CO customized to your needs and schedule, and a follow-up session. Intensives are designed to allow clients to travel from outside of the area if needed.

Intensives may include: preparation skills and resourcing (EMDR Therapy phase 2), reprocessing of trauma memories (EMDR Therapy phases 3-7), parts work, and yoga or mindful movement.

Costs for individual intensives are not typically covered by insurance companies. The rates for intensives are on a sliding scale ranging from $100-160/hour. During initial treatment planning, you will decide with the therapist how many hours per day to schedule, when to add breaks, and how many preparation sessions will be done before meeting for the intensive. Costs for therapy do not including any food or lodging. Intensives can also be arranged 1 hour outside of Fort Collins at the Poudre River Resort, if you prefer a retreat-style setting near the Poudre river, rather than our Fort Collins office location.

Individual EMDR Therapy Intensives may not be appropriate for everyone. For a free screening to see if an intensive might be a good option for you, please call or text 970-818-8373.
