Trauma Therapy Preparation Intensive

  • 109 Cameron Drive A Fort Collins, CO 80525 (map)

In this immersive group, psychoeducation and mindful movement will be used to learn & practice the skills needed to begin more intensive trauma therapy (such as EMDR therapy or Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy). The learning focuses on understanding the connection between trauma and the body’s response, the basics of yoga psychology, and how to cultivate the awareness and calm needed to do deeper emotional healing. The movement portions of this group will not be like a typical “yoga class”, but more akin to intuitive mindful movement where individuals focus on following their own inner cues, rather than an instructor. Each session will involve easy mindful movement, a new skill to help with trauma therapy (such as calm state imagery), & time to process with group members (about the skills being taught, not trauma memories).

When: 9am - 3pm May 9th and 10th (with a 1 hour break for lunch both days)

Where: In person at Hope Roots in the Lotus Room and outside by the willow pond, 109 Cameron Dr A, Fort Collins, CO 80525
