Desiree Agee, LCSW, LAC, Trauma Therapist

Hi, I’m Desiree Agee (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Addiction Counselor based in Fort Collins, Colorado. I work with adults of all genders and sexual orientations, and I welcome clients from all identities and backgrounds. I specialize in supporting individuals navigating trauma (including PTSD and C-PTSD), anxiety, depression, addiction, and ADHD.

My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, safety, and collaboration. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to begin therapy, and my priority is to meet you where you are without judgment so you can feel supported in showing up as your most authentic self.

Therapy with me is individualized and paced according to your needs. I draw from evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches and tailor treatment to what is most supportive for each person. I also value ongoing learning and am always seeking out new approaches and modalities that may benefit the individuals I work with.

I offer walk and talk therapy and animal-assisted therapy for clients who may benefit from a more experiential approach. For in-person sessions, my therapy dog, a Golden Retriever named Stiles, may be present. His participation is always guided by client preference and comfort, and he often brings a calming and grounding presence to the therapeutic space.

My clinical experience includes helping those in populations such as corrections, domestic violence shelters, crisis centers, addiction recovery programs, therapeutic equine-assisted settings, schools, family wraparound services, and group therapy programs such as Celebrating Families. These experiences have shaped my belief that meaningful therapy must be individualized, trauma-informed, and grounded in real-world understanding.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rogers State University (Psi Chi member) and my Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma, where I was involved in the Social Work Student Association. I have completed specialized education in Addiction work. I am currently taking courses to expand my training in Animal Assisted Therapy activities.

I have limited availability on Wednesdays at this time.
