Desiree Agee, LCSW, LAC, Trauma Therapist
Hi, I’m Desiree Agee (she/her), a Licensed Addiction Counselor and Licensed Social Worker based in Fort Collins, Colorado. I work with adolescents and adults of all genders and sexual orientations, and welcome clients of all identities and backgrounds. I support individuals through challenges related to trauma (including PTSD and C-PTSD), anxiety, depression, addiction, and ADHD.
I take a gentle, compassionate approach to therapy, fully understanding how intimidating it can be to ask for help—whether for yourself or someone you love. My first goal is always to meet you where you are, without judgment, so that you feel safe, supported, and free to be your truest self.
Our work together will be collaborative and personalized. Each session is tailored to your unique needs, values, and goals. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have completed the EMDR basic training and am looking forward to utilizing this modality with my clients. I also incorporate parts work and am currently pursuing certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), deepening my ability to support clients through complex trauma.
Much of my clinical experience has come through practicum, internships, and volunteer roles, which have taken place in a wide variety of settings—including corrections, domestic violence shelters, crisis centers, addiction recovery programs, therapeutic horse-riding facilities, schools (ages 5–23), family wraparound services, and group therapy spaces such as Celebrating Families. These experiences have deepened my belief in the power of individualized, empathetic care and given me a broad foundation for clinical practice.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rogers State University (Psi Chi member) and my Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma, where I was involved in the Social Work Student Association. I’m currently on track to obtain my Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential in August 2025.
Whether you're seeking therapy to heal, grow, or simply find space to breathe, I’m here to walk alongside you with care, curiosity, and respect.
